Tuesday afternoon, July 20; Suspects at large
Des Moines Police are looking for suspects in the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man Tuesday afternoon at Planet Fitness, 27072 Pacific Highway S., in the Redondo area.
The officers were dispatched to a shooting along with South King Fire and Rescue and Medic One at around 3:30 p.m. on July 20. Rescue workers began life-saving measures against the man, but he died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to a Des Moines police press release.
The suspects are described as mixed race male and female. They fled in a car. Both suspects are outstanding and, according to police, are considered armed and dangerous.
Investigators continue to investigate what led to the shooting and the connection between the man and the suspects.
Planet Fitness is located in the Redondo Square shopping center, which includes a Safeway store and Jack in the Box, among other things.
