Mix together 2 onions, 2 tomatoes, 4 cloves of garlic, 3 green chili peppers, and ½ inch ginger. Heat some oil in a pan and add the prepared paste. Add some red chili powder, salt, and turmeric powder. Add 2 cups of cut lotus stem. Add 1 cup of water and simmer for 5-7 minutes. Serve hot.

Brush 2-3 cups of thinly sliced lotus stalks with corn flour and fry in oil until golden brown and set aside. Mix ½ tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp red chilli sauce and ½ teaspoon vinegar in a bowl. In a saucepan, add the fried lotus stalks and the sauce mixture. Mix well and add a pinch of salt. Serve hot.

Season with 1 teaspoon red chilli powder, ½ teaspoon garam masala, ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder and a pinch of salt. Add the cut lotus stem and cook for 2-3 minutes. Serve hot.
