These quick snacks are perfect when life gets hectic again with the start of school.

DALLAS – When we get back on our feet and send the kids back to school, it’s important to focus again on making sure they’re getting the nutrients they need in every meal.

Nutritionist Meridian Zerner joined the Daybreak team to help us with the following recipes.

Delicious and healthy treats include the “Superhero” Smoothie, Nut Butter Green Bites, and Goodie Green Guacamole. See it for yourself below.

Superhero smoothie

Child approved! This chocolate-green smoothie is so delicious your kids will never know it’s good for them too!

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ medium-sized banana
  • 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed
  • 2 teaspoons Kyo-Green Greens Mix drink powder mix
  • 1 cup of ice
  • A few drops of stevia, if you like
  1. Put the ingredients in the blender and process to the desired consistency.
  2. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Goodie green guacamole

Avocado, lemon, fresh coriander, diced tomatillos and jalapenos as well as a scoop of Kyo-Green green powder make this guacamole a superfood that your whole family will love!

  • 3 medium-sized avocados
  • ½ teaspoon of ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Kyo-Green Greens Mix drink powder mix
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh coriander
  1. Mash the avocados and mix all the ingredients together.
  2. Add additional salt, pepper, and seasoning if you like.
  3. Enjoy!

Nut butter Green Bites

These nut butter bites are super easy to make and taste amazing! Plus, they have a secret ingredient that will help you get some green.

  • ½ cup of creamy almond and nut butter
  • 1 cup pitted dates
  • 1 cup of old fashioned oats
  • ½ cup of raw cashew nuts
  • 2 tablespoons of chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon Kyo-Green Greens Mix drink powder mix
  1. Put all the ingredients in a food processor and pulse until you have a coarse but malleable mass.
  2. Shape the mixture into small, bite-sized balls and place on baking sheets lined with baking paper.
  3. Put in the fridge for an hour and then enjoy!
