Ascensia Launches the GlucoContro.on-line Diabetes Administration and Analytics Platform

Using GlucoContro.online makes it easier to collect, access and share blood glucose data for PWDs. The user-friendly and intuitive cloud-based platform opens directly in the browser and offers a simple wizard for downloading data. For those who use one of the connected meters in the CONTOUR® portfolio, data is recorded directly from the CONTOUR®DIABETES app or the CONTOUR Cloud. It also provides the option for those who do not use a connected meter to share their data over a cable. This requires a simple one-step installation without a forced reboot and the appropriate devices will be found automatically. Once the data is downloaded, users can conveniently view data, generate reports, and share them with their care team on the platform.

With GlucoContro.online, HCPs and caregivers can easily view data such as blood glucose measurements, insulin dosage, foods and activities by simply opening a user profile on the platform once the user has given them permission.

In addition, the platform includes industry-leading innovations and other features that address some of the challenges and concerns HCPs and PWDs have experienced with existing platforms. This includes the ability to bring patients on board immediately via QR codes or a simple one-click invitation. the option for PWDs to store data in their own personal cloud drive or offline storage; and the ability to create easy-to-read color-coded charts and reports to speed and facilitate analysis of the data by HCPs, as well as interactive aggregations or groupings.

The platform that was used for piloting Spain and KSA in the last six months will be available in Slovenia, Italy, Poland, UK and Ireland until the end of Q2 and in Romania, Czech Republic, Serbia, Portugal, Bulgaria and Bosnia By the end of the third quarter of 2021. The long-term goal is to offer GlucoContro.online in all 58 markets in which the CONTOUR®DIABETES app is available for download, provided the technical requirements are met.

GlucoContro.online is the result of a collaboration between Ascensia and SdNcenter, a Poland-based company specializing in providing high-tech healthcare solutions and integration for corporate customers worldwide. This collaboration enabled a platform to be built that is scalable to process data from over 150 million patients, 10,000 clinics and 100,000 HCPs. It is also designed to be able to collect additional data from other devices such as FitBit, Apple Health, Google Health, and Smart Scales in the future.
