Carson City’s newest fitness and physical therapy fitness center, The Health Lab, held a ligament cutting ceremony on Wednesday at its new location on Cochise Street.

Mayor Lori Bagwell, board members and many Carson City executives and business owners attended to celebrate the opening.

Loren Wooldridge is a certified orthopedist for physiotherapy, a certified nutrition trainer and has his Level 1 CrossFit. He started the business to help people bridge the gap between physical injury and healthier health. According to Wooldridge, waiting for a doctor to get a referral after an injury can take many people some time, which extends the healing process.

“By removing this barrier, we can make people healthier without the need for a referral,” said Wooldridge. “It is also far better to train with people than to train alone. it builds community. ”

There are currently three levels of membership for the gym: Standard, Health Optimized, and Ultimate Health.

The standard, which is $ 125 per month, includes open gym access, fitness programming, fitness tracking, three group classes per week, a free foundation movement course, free seminar access, two partner passes per month, and a 10 percent discount on physical therapy.

Health Optimized and Ultimate Health build on the standard plan. To learn more about the plans, click here.

Physiotherapy is only available by appointment, while the members’ fitness studio can be used at any time during business hours.
