Mazedaar oat spring rolls
Ingredients:
For the filling,
■ Oats – 1 point (preferably Classic Masala, Saffola Masala oats)
■ Spring onions – 1/4 cup, chopped
■ Bell peppers – 1/4 cup, chopped
■ Spring roll sheets – 10 pieces
■ Cooking oil – sufficient for frying
■ Maida – 1/4 cup
■ Water – as needed
■ Salt – to taste
For the sauce,
■ Tomato ketchup – 1 cup
■ Green chillies – 1 tsp, chopped
■ Onion – 1/4 cup, chopped
■ Chilli sauce – a few splashes
Method:
■ Put the oat flakes in a pan with water and bring to the boil. Now reduce the flame and cook until thick. Remove from heat and let cool down completely. Add the chopped green onions and bell peppers to the oatmeal for a little more crunch.
■ While the mixture is cooling, make a thick dough with the flour and a little water. This is used to seal the sides of the spring roll leaves.
■ Spread the spring roll leaves and place a spoonful of thick oats in them, like rolling up a cigar. Apply the thick batter around the edges and seal it. Repeat with the remaining leaves. Heat the oil in a pan and turn the spring rolls golden brown. Take them out and serve.
■ Mix all the ingredients for the sauce and serve with the delicious spring roll plate.
Chatpata Soy Sattu Kebab
Ingredients:
■ Chunks of soy (dried) – 1 cup
■ Sattu (channa) – 2 tbsp
■ onion – 2 tbsp, chopped
■ Potato – 2 tbsp, boiled and mashed
■ Mint – a handful, chopped
■ Coriander – a handful, chopped
■ Green chilli – 1, chopped
■ cumin – 2 tsp
■ Coriander seeds – 2 tsp
■ Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
■ Chili powder – 1TL
■ Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp
■ cooking oil – 2 tbsp
■ Ginger – 2 tsp, chopped |
■ Chaat masala – 2 tsp
■ Salt – to taste
Method:
■ Soak the soy pieces in hot water for half an hour. Now squeeze out the water and put it in a mixer.
■ Add channa / sattu, chopped onions, mashed potatoes, mint, coriander, green chilli, cumin, coriander seeds, turmeric, chilli powder, garam masala, cooking oil, chopped ginger, chaat masala and salt. Mix well and divide into small portions the size of golf balls. Design it as you wish. Heat a pan, drizzle some cooking oil over it and bake the kebabs until they are brown on both sides. Serve hot.
