Scott Blake said the family were overwhelmed with the support they received.

“It means the world to us,” he said.

He described Sumi Blake as a great mother, wife, and friend. He also said that she has a kind, loving, generous, and good-humored personality.

“My wife, she’s a pillar in the ward and has been for a long time,” said Scott Blake. “She has helped many people through (our) church and through the gym.”

Scott Blake said his wife faced many obstacles during her recovery. He said that she is “slowly but surely coming back” after learning to walk again and preparing to learn to jog and walk again.

“She came out and passed every test and she had surgery after surgery and setback after setback,” said Scott Blake. “She has nerve damage in her leg and blood clots.”

No matter how difficult the situation may be, Sumi Blake has remained positive.

“She’s a testimony to many people, a motivator to many people,” said Scott Blake. “Your faith has never wavered.”

Sumi Blake has even started training clients again at their CrossFit Crown Point. Scott Blake is there to make sure she isn’t taking any chances because the frontal lobes of Sumi Blake’s brain were affected by the aneurysm.
