How did you choose your business’ name? I wanted to create a mix of the area we live in. I like to associate our name with FRESH: The many local farmers who produce fresh fruit and veggies and POINT: to tie in the Little Point Sable Lighthouse. Growing up in the area I wanted to create a name that had some meaning behind the town and surrounding areas/features in the county.
What is your most popular menu item? When we first opened we sold a lot of energizing TeaBombs. Now that we have been open for a little while we have people branching out and trying new things. We sell a lot of Shake & Tea Combos but the Coffee is becoming very popular.
What is your favorite menu item? I have a special place in my heart for the Coffee Cake Shake, however I can’t seem to venture too far from the Strawberry Watermelon Tea which is a clean healthy metabolism boost with zero sugar that gives me a little kick of energy.
What is it like to serve our community in this business capacity? I couldn’t imagine having a shop like this anywhere else. The small town community support has been outstanding. Growing up in Shelby and having a lot of close connections and relationships has created such an amazing environment at Fresh Point. Everyday we see somebody new walk through our door and being able to just hold a small conversation and serve them something healthy is a very special feeling.
What’s your favorite thing about Oceana County? One of my favorite things about Oceana County is the small town love. I feel like no matter what is going on in the world our small towns in our county love to “shop small” and being a business owner I feel this first hand and it has been something I absolutely appreciate.
Future plans or menu items? We are working towards some healthy items that are not beverages. Protein Oats & Protein Donuts for example.
Why is it important to dine small and local? I think it’s important to dine small and local because it lights our small towns up and it keeps the possibilities of “new” in our area. Some of the businesses you see in our small towns start with a dream and when you dine small you are making so many dreams come true.
