Dr. Raymond Rezaie discusses the early warning signs of diabetes

MONTREAL, CANADA, June 15, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – Diabetes is a serious problem in Canada and many other countries. Canadian doctor Raymond Rezaie covers the early warning signs of diabetes so you know what to look out for.

Did you know that more than 7 percent of Canadians aged 12 and over have diabetes? Diabetes is a serious illness that can lead to death and a variety of medical complications. Even with the right treatment, your quality of life can be affected if you develop diabetes. Fortunately, Dr. Raymond Rezaie explain some of the early signs of diabetes.

“It is important to identify diabetes and prediabetes at an early stage,” says Dr. Raymond Rezaie. “If you act early enough, in some cases you may not have full blown diabetes but prediabetes. And no matter what, the right treatment will help you enjoy a higher quality of life and avoid serious complications and death.

If you have prediabetes, it means that your blood sugar level is above normal. Although you may not already have type 2 diabetes, you may be at a higher risk of developing the disease. This is especially true if you are not taking steps to maintain healthy blood sugar levels.

People with prediabetes often experience increased thirst and frequent urination. You can also experience excessive hunger, blurred vision, and fatigue.

“Ideally, you will notice pre-diabetes symptoms early. By working with a doctor, you may be able to avoid type 2 diabetes or at least gain some time, ”notes Dr. Raymond Rezaie. “Pay close attention to symptoms and see a doctor if you think you have prediabetes.”

Dr. Raymond Rezaie notes that the symptoms of type II diabetes are similar to the symptoms of prediabetes. Unfortunately, many people don’t notice prediabetes until it’s too late. Without proper treatment and lifestyle changes, prediabetes could turn into type 2 diabetes.

In addition to increased thirst, urination, and hunger, slow-healing wounds, increased infections, and numbness in the hands or feet can occur. Sometimes you will have dark skin on your neck or armpits.

What is diabetes anyway? Your body uses glucose for energy. However, your cells cannot easily take up glucose molecules by themselves. In order for glucose to enter the cells, your body produces insulin.

In some cases, however, your cells develop insulin resistance, which makes glucose more difficult to absorb. As such, your cells are not getting the energy they need and your blood sugar levels rise as unabsorbed glucose clogs your body.

“Our understanding of both type I and type II diabetes is still somewhat limited,” says Dr. Raymond Rezaie. “Researchers continue to unravel the secrets of diabetes, but we have a lot to learn right now. Our lack of complete understanding makes it all the more important to watch out for symptoms. “
