The Junior Diabetes Research Foundation is holding their annual gala this weekend in a hybrid live and virtual event.

The Junior Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) works tirelessly to fund research and raise awareness about the disease. And this weekend is one of their biggest events and you are invited.

“JDRF will honor community leaders Susan and Martin Gilmore at its 21st annual Hope Gala, which will be practically on Saturday, May 15,” said Marketing Director Elanor Schaffner-Mosh.

“Although this year’s event is broadcast live, the Hope Gala typically attracts 1,000 guests, alternating between Greensboro and Winston-Salem. The Hope Gala, the largest annual charity of its kind in the Triad, has raised at least $ 1 million to fund type 1 diabetes (T1D) research for nine of the last 10 years that grossed approximately $ 18.8 million in the first 20 years. ”

Since there is no personal element this year, it extends the reach of the popular event.

“Since this is a virtual event, there is no need to buy tickets, no evening dress or tuxedo, and no babysitting line. We will be spiritually together so that everyone on their phone, computer, or television – no matter where they live, “said Schaffner-Mosh.
