REVIEW – When I get back to work, I walk a few kilometers every day. Although I spend a fair amount of time sitting, I wasn’t worried about the whole “sitting is the new smoking” thing. However, thanks to unlimited access to streaming services and remote work, I’m a lot more sedentary than I used to be. When I saw the Flexispot Sit2Go 2-in-1 fitness chair, I decided this was a great way to add some exercise to my work day.
What is it?
The Flexispot Sit2Go 2-in-1 fitness chair is a hybrid of an ergometer and an office chair.

Design and functions
The Flexispot Sit2Go 2-in-1 fitness chair came very well packaged with a lot of protection from the dangers of shipping. My son is my resident construction worker and he had the chair assembled in about 15 minutes. It’s really just a matter of putting the pedals on it and attaching the chair parts to the main part.
When I first saw the chair on the Flexispot website, I was intrigued. They show a lady using it for her morning workout, then she gets dressed, goes to work and uses it under her desk, then she goes into the break room and uses it while sitting and chatting with her coworkers. Mind you, she doesn’t move the chair – the chairs are basically just scattered around her workplace. It makes it look like the perfect chair as it can be used at counter level, desk level and in between. And that’s right, it’s super adjustable in height. However, I quickly learned that if you are pedaling with it at a desk, you really need a desk that is quite high because you need space for your knees to walk up and down. The seat can be adjusted up and down, but the pedals cannot, and that determines how high your legs go when you pedal. My son took my Flexispot Comhar desk, which I checked in March, so I thought I would use it in the kitchen bar area in my house. I pushed a bar stool over, rolled the chair, and found that there was another problem with it: the front wheels hit the floor of the bar so I couldn’t really get as close to the counter as I needed to be comfortable working on my laptop. My advice if you are seriously considering this chair is to invest in a standing or height-adjustable desk. Fortunately, Flexispot wanted a review of their Esben Standing Desk UD4 and they sent me one to try (it’s great). So I set up my new desk and chair and started pedaling.
My counter wasn’t deep enough to make effective use of the chair here.
The Flexispot Sit2Go 2-in-1 fitness chair is really two things. It’s a desk chair and a stationary bike. As a chair, it’s not exactly like sitting in a regular desk chair, although Flexispot has done its best to make it comfortable. It has a gel seat that is contoured to make leg movement easier when pedaling, but is also large enough so that you don’t feel like you’re sitting on a bike seat. The mesh backrest is very comfortable and supportive. The backrest and the seat are adjustable in height and position relative to one another in various ways. Personally, I liked the seat, which faced all the way back toward the mesh back when typing and all the way forward when pedaling. The pedals are a bit grippy, but not uncomfortable when used barefoot. I thought the pedals would bother me and bother me if I didn’t pedal, but I had a tendency to put my feet on the front wheels and I found that very comfortable. All in all, I think Flexispot did a great job in terms of design, pushing the boundaries of an exercise bike and desk chair (it couldn’t have been easy).
The pedals were easy to grip, but also comfortable when you were barefoot.
I found that if I wasn’t pedaling, I could put my feet on the wheels and use the chair at a lower height.
I loosened these screws so I could slide the chair seat back and forth depending on what I was doing (pedaling or just sitting).
As a stationary bike, you shouldn’t expect the Flexispot Sit2Go 2-in-1 fitness chair to be as fancy as you might be used to in your gym. It’s pretty simple in its design, with a button that adjusts the resistance. I tended to keep the button in the center and I could pedal absent-mindedly all day. I was very surprised that I pedaled almost 5 miles on the first day and felt it in my legs the next day even though I wasn’t really trying what I was doing. Could I work up a sweat with it? Probably, but I feel like I couldn’t type or work if I really pedal a storm. I can barely walk and chew gum at the same time, so you may be different. Again, remember to keep the pedals in the same position while the seat is raised.
This display cannot be read under the desk.
The bike has a display that I found difficult to read and if they ever do another version of it I hope they put a brighter one on. There’s a button that toggles between the timer, speed, distance, calories burned, odometer, and RPMs, but you can’t easily see the display as it’s pretty dark and pretty dark because it’s under your desk lies. It is also very difficult to tell which mode is being displayed. I had to get up from my chair to say it safely. It’s not that big of a deal to me because I’m not trying to track my progress or anything, but I know a lot of people do and would also have a hard time seeing what was happening on the display.
Another thing that I think could be tweaked a bit is the wheels on the chair. They work well when you are not in the chair, but if you want to slide to the desk without getting up, you will likely have a hard time. I kept wanting to hold on to the desk to pull myself closer, and you can’t do that with these bikes.
What I like
- Easy to use
- Easy to exercise and not even realizing you are exercising
- Adjustable
What I would change
- The display should be brighter
- The wheels could be more flexible
Final thoughts
All in all, I like the Flexispot Sit2Go 2-in-1 fitness chair very much. For health reasons, I try to stay away from vigorous exercise, and cycling is something almost anyone can do. Plus, you can cycle into old age if you don’t have to worry about balancing and falling off. I was surprised how much I could ride a bike without really trying, and while I’m not sweating or puffing and puffing, it’s more exercise than before and that must be a benefit.
