People under 65 years of age with serious health problems such as type 2 diabetes or severe obesity can get a Covid vaccination from March 15, the Ministry of Health announced today (February 12).
The serious health conditions on the state’s list are:
• severe obesity;
• Type 2 diabetes with hemoglobin A1c greater than 7.5%;
• cancer;
• Chronic kidney disease stage 4 or higher;
• Down syndrom;
• weakened immune system due to an organ transplant;
• pregnancy;
• Sickle cell anemia;
• Heart conditions.
The change adds another 4 to 6 million people to the list of people eligible for a coronavirus vaccine.
