Medical students, scholars, specialists, nurses and tutors around the world are encouraged to use a free e-learning web portal.

The ISPAD-ESPE e-learning platform is an interactive learning environment for current topics in pediatric endocrinology and diabetes.

It is specifically designed so that users can share, contribute, and develop knowledge through interactive chapters and case-based learning.

It includes core and advanced learning modules on normal physical growth and development, pathophysiological mechanisms, and current views on diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.

All content has been prepared and reviewed by international experts in diabetes and endocrinology.

Associate Professor May Ng, who has served on the Committee of the European Society of Pediatric Endocrinology (ESPE) and the International Society of Diabetes in Children and Adolescents (ISPAD) since 2016, said, “We are delighted with the continued success of the ESPE-ISPAD Free Global e-learning platform with over 20,000 people from 154 countries using this free global e-learning platform.

“During this COVID-19 pandemic, e-learning has been used extensively and has become an increasingly important means of delivering effective healthcare education programs around the world. The RLC (Resource-Limited Countries) modules also offer an up-to-date, globally accessible, multilingual curriculum in four additional languages: French, Spanish, Swahili and Chinese, which enables access to non-English speaking health professionals and students.

“Those interested in contributing to new chapters or providing case studies on the Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes modules are encouraged to contact info@espe-e-learning.org.”

The portal provides an extensive source of up-to-date information that is freely accessible via an automated registration process and can be viewed on computers and mobile devices.

Chapters and case-based discussions cover a variety of core pediatric endocrine and diabetes topics, including physiology and pathophysiology.

It also provides practical approaches to treating and managing common and rare diseases.

The chapters are presented in a neat bullet format and are accompanied by real clinical cases. In this way, users can apply their knowledge to diagnose and manage certain conditions in a step-by-step and interactive manner.
