FORT RILEY, Kan. (WIBW) – Fort Riley requires that guests of all fitness centers with the exception of one post be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to use the facilities.

Fort Riley says that as of Monday October 18, access to King Field House, Leonard Fitness Center, Robinson Fitness Center, and Craig Fitness Center will only be allowed to people who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The military base announced that the Whitside Fitness Center will remain open to unvaccinated guests under current protocols. However, saunas, showers and water fountains will only be available in COVID-vaccinated fitness centers.

Ft. Riley said vaccinated guests can go to any fitness center or the Warrior Zone to register for access. You need a valid ID and a COVID-19 shot card. Access begins 14 days after a second dose is administered.

From October 18, Ft. Riley said that once enrolled, Soldiers and eligible patrons will be able to use ID cards to scan in any COVID-19 vaccinated fitness center. It is said that gyms will operate at 75% capacity to ensure social distancing, and Whitside will have a limit of 100 guests or less.
