Halle Berry says being on keto food regimen for 30 years helped her handle diabetes

Halle Berry said she was on one Keto diet 30 years since she was diagnosed with diabetes at age 22.

Speaking of the life changing moment, the insider quoted her as saying, “It was a moment I will never forget. I had to rewrite the way I lived my life and have carried that around with me ever since. Because I’m a diabetic, diet has been a big part of my life and I’ve been following the ketogenic lifestyle for almost 30 years. “

Previously, the Catwoman actress had spoken extensively in an Instagram post about her health and food intake and mentioned that keto is “largely responsible” for slowing down her “aging process”.

“The keto lifestyle offers as many benefits as weight loss (mothers how to get rid of our baby bumps), appetite control, more energy, and better mental performance,” she wrote.

“If you are like me you can potentially reverse type 2 diabetes, you will experience better physical endurance, better skin and also less acne if that is a problem. And it even helps fight migraines! ” She wrote.

However, the benefits of the keto diet have been denied by experts. This cast doubt, especially after actor Mishti Mukherjee passed away in 2020 due to kidney failure allegedly caused by the keto diet. As a low-carbohydrate diet, keto relies on eating in addition to protein and lots of fat can affect the kidney if the diet is followed for a long time.

Nutritionists have also argued that avoiding a number of foods because of their carbohydrate content such as colored fruits and vegetables, whole grains, cereals, and nuts, can lead to a lack of vitamins and mineralsand is therefore not healthy. Instead, one should eat a healthy and balanced diet with the right combination of nutrients such as probiotics, prebiotics, vitamins and minerals.
