Fitness course for seniors
A senior fitness class is held every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 am at the Ponce Inlet Community Center, 4670 S. Peninsula Drive.
The course focuses on cardio, strength and balance. Hand weights, resistance bands, and balls are used. All equipment provided. Participants should bring a water bottle.

Gentle yoga classes on the banks
The Daytona Beach Shores Community Center offers gentle yoga classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. on Bellemead Drive 3000.
Classes are taught by Mardi Williams, a certified yoga teacher, and include floor-to-standing poses to improve posture, balance, energy, breathing, strength, flexibility, and relaxation.
The cost is $ 8 per class. Participants should bring their own mats, as well as straps and blocks, if using props. Shores residency is not required.

Registration for the Mayor Fitness Challenge possible
After the typical January start for the Mayor of Daytona Beach’s annual fitness challenge has been postponed, the popular program is set to begin next month.
The first session is Tuesday, September 7th at 5:30 pm at the Midtown Community Center, 925 George W Engram Blvd. At the meeting, a weighing and further details about the eight-week program will be presented. Registration costs USD 20 per person. Classes take place on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:30 a.m.
The healthy program offers a schedule of activities for adults of all ages and fitness levels, including yoga, zumba, line dancing, weight training, walking, and a variety of other indoor and outdoor activities.
Weighing is done at the beginning and at the end to track the results. Prizes will be given to the man and woman who lose the most weight during the program. Additional prizes will be awarded.

Daytona Beach Pools
The City of Daytona Beach offers access to the pools at the Campbell Aquatic Center, 400 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., and the Cypress Aquatic Center, 981 George W. Engram Blvd.
Visitors will be checked for temperature prior to entry and should maintain social distancing.
Cypress is open Monday through Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Lap swimming from Monday to Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Day entry is $ 3 for adults and $ 2 for ages 17 and younger. There are discounts for swimming packages. Cypress is limited to 50 people.
Campbell has open swimming times on Saturdays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free. Groups are limited to 10 or fewer people. Aqua Zumba is available from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Campbell is limited to 25 people.
The bathrooms are open in both facilities, but no loitering is allowed.

Nova Community Center
The Nova Community Center is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. at 440 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach.
Pickleball and basketball are available Monday through Saturday. Basketball is played on Sunday.
Reservations are necessary. The cost is free for residents or $ 4 daily for annual membership for non-residents.

South Ormond neighborhood center
The South Ormond Neighborhood Center is open Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 176 Division Ave., Ormond Beach.
The center has baseball fields, outdoor tennis, and basketball.

Ormond Beach Tennis Center
The Ormond Beach Tennis Center is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., 38 E. Granada Blvd.
It offers member and non-member gaming and lessons seven days a week.

Yoga in the gallery
Yoga in the gallery takes place on Wednesday, September 8, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, 352 S. Nova Road, Daytona Beach.
Meet in the lobby. The course is open to all levels of experience. Participants should bring a mat, towel, and water. Places are limited and registration is required. Entry is $ 5 for members and $ 10 for non-members.

Gentle yoga in the hub
The Hub on Canal offers a gentle yoga class with Becky Collins on Thursdays from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at 132 Canal St., New Smyrna Beach.
With a focus on stretching and breathing work, Ms. Collins will guide participants through light stretching techniques that tone the body and reduce stress. Beginners are welcome. Suitable for ages 10 and up. Limited to 11 students.
The fee is USD 10 per course and is payable to the instructor.
