The plethora of fitness techniques and nutrition tips can make it difficult to know who to listen to.

Instead of digging through websites and social media to find reliable information, a staffed gym can find everything you need to improve your workout, lose or gain weight, and meet your fitness goals.

The Quo Vadis Gym in Abbots Ripton welcomes customers of all ages and abilities ages 14 and up to improve their fitness and nutrition with effective nutritional advice and strength training.

We speak to Stef and Gian Zicchi, the owners of Quo Vadis Gym, who explain how they can help you work on your health and fitness routine.

Q: What are the benefits of joining a private gym?

Quo Vadis is primarily a free weight gym that offers much more natural movements when exercising.

A: First and foremost, it’s easy access to proven health tips and expertise that will enable you to achieve your fitness goals. We offer tailor-made support and advice on all aspects of health and fitness, tailored to your body type, your routine and your personal goals. It’s hard to find this level of dedicated, personal help in public health clubs and gyms. Our employees are all qualified trainers with a combined 50 years of experience in the fitness sector and have expertise that is difficult to find elsewhere.

We can recommend exercise programs that will work best for you to help you move towards a more nutritious, easy-to-maintain diet and to develop an overall healthier lifestyle. The club model for private members also creates a community-based atmosphere where like-minded people can enjoy a friendly and sociable experience.

Q: How do I join a member-only gym?

A: You can always make an appointment to tour the facilities. As soon as you want to become a member, we usually process your application within 48 hours. You can then enjoy the facilities in peace and quiet and, if necessary, take advantage of free help and advice.

Q: What facilities are available at Quo Vadis Gym?

A: Located in the countryside on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Abbots Ripton, Quo Vadis is a real gym with a large number of free weights and weight machines. There are treadmills, steppers, and static bikes for cardio, as well as space for floor exercises. There is also plenty of space for outdoor activities on a property of over two hectares.

On weekends we only offer ladies’ sessions and can arrange private consultations by arrangement. We also have a dedicated protein bar that serves smoothies, shakes and healthy snacks during business hours.

There is also a full size English pool table for relaxing after a workout and these facilities are available to members at all times whether you are exercising or not.

Q: Why is it worth joining a private gym instead of developing my own workout routine?

A: Social media and the introduction of home workout videos have completely changed the face of the fitness industry. With so much choice and fitness supplements on offer, it’s hard to find a routine that is best for you and that you know will work.

Training at home and following online training techniques can also be dangerous, may not produce positive results, and lead to injury. When you join Quo Vadis you will receive professional help and guidance in a safe environment.

The level of nutrition and fitness advice we offer at Quo Vadis has traditionally been reserved for professional athletes. We regularly review developments in health and fitness and update our knowledge base accordingly.

If you are a serious athlete looking to improve your performance or just want to improve your health and fitness, Quo Vadis is one of the best places to start this journey.
