Great Bend Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassador’s Club were invited to a ribbon cut to celebrate the essentials, 3108 10th St. in Great Bend, and to join the Chamber of Commerce. Essential Elements owners Jan and Bryon Morton also celebrated their fifth year in business. While cutting the ribbons, Jan talked about the fact that it really is a “mom and pop shop” and the benefits of CBD.

Since opening in November 2016, they have served thousands and been very lucky with customers. Jan said that the COVID-19 shutdown in 2020 was difficult, but that their “Great Benders” supported their small business in return for supporting their hometown. “I can guarantee that we small businesses value them a lot more than the internet!” She said.

Before opening the store, Jan was an RN for several years. An injury to her back resulted in a dozen years of using the conventional medical route and it nearly killed her. She was on the highest dose of opioid patches and oral medication and they were no longer helping. She was hospitalized several times because her body had been destroyed by all the drugs she had taken over the years.

Jan started taking CBD in 2014 and got off medication without withdrawal. She said, “I’m 50 years old now, I am raising our 9-year-old grandson and running my own business, helping others feel better too!” Between attending exhibitions and the many samples she received from potential suppliers, Jan tried hundreds of CBD products. So she knows her way around high quality CBD, and that’s all they have with them. Essential Elements also contains essential oils and diffusers. some dietary supplements: elderberry, colloidal silver, ear candles; Crystal clusters, lamps and stones; as well as fun socks, floor mats and candles.

Essential Elements is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and by appointment.
