Jack Wilshere was pictured back in action with Arsenal for the first time in three years when the club’s former midfielder improved his fitness with the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta welcomed his former teammate with open arms but insisted that the free agent Wilshere has no chance of rejoining the club and only uses the facilities.
Wilshere was spotted at Colney’s training grounds on Thursday morning and the Arsenal boss was asked again if the Englishman was definitely not being offered a contract.

The midfielder is currently without a club and is waiting for the right opportunity
He said on the club’s website, “We should believe that we want to help him prepare physically and mentally for his next phase, he wants to get his coaching badges again, and we are ready to meet any needs he wants. That’s basically the idea and it doesn’t go any further.
“I am very happy to have him again. We had a conversation with Jack and we understand the needs he has, the time he is going through and I think everyone at the club agreed that it was the right moment to help him.
“We sat down with him and listened to what he wanted to do and what stage he is at, and we are ready to do anything to help him.
Wilshere is also completing his coaching badges and thinking about what’s next
“He’ll train with us sometimes. He’ll be around. He will continue his coaching badges, which he is very interested in.
“(We will) try to make him fit, to pass on his experience to our players, our young players, our academy and I think it’s a huge influence that we have.”
Arteta had previously said: “We are ready to help him as much as possible. He knows that and so is the situation, ”and Wilshere was encouraged by his words.
The 29-year-old added, “I think so [training with Arsenal] can only help me. As you said, it’s something that interests me about being with good players, training with world class players and just being in a team environment. ‘
Wilshere first made his name at Arsenal after bursting on stage and becoming the club’s youngest player when he made his debut at 16 years and 236 days.
Mikel Arteta spoke about how happy he is that Wilshere is sharing his experience
He played 197 games for the club over the next decade and is still a valued ex-player. He was at Arteta’s club from 2011 to 2016.
But injuries ruined his time in north London, with persistent ankle problems and questions about his off-field lifestyle that eventually drew him to West Ham.
His stint at London Stadium was lacking consistency as injuries returned, and he moved to Bournemouth on a short-term contract last season.
Wilshere played 17 games and scored twice, but his contract wasn’t renewed that summer.
It remains to be seen what comes next for the playmaker, but it seems his long-term goal is to switch to the coaching profession, although he could still have a lot to offer to potential applicants on the field.
