King Goodwill Zwelithini is hospitalized for unstable glucose levels associated with diabetes.

There is no evidence that the king signed Covid-19.

Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, the traditional prime minister of the Zulu monarch and nation, said: “In the past few weeks, several unstable glucose levels have caused concern and His Majesty has had to go to a hospital in Zululand to take care of them.

“Unfortunately the problem could not be completely resolved and His Majesty had to return to the hospital to re-stabilize his glucose levels.

“His doctors felt it was necessary to take him to the intensive care unit to study it thoroughly.”

The king’s doctors reportedly take fluctuating glucose levels very seriously as diabetes is seen as a comorbidity factor in patients with Covid-19.

Buthelezi said the king was being fully cared for for his diabetes, adding that Dr. Zweli Mkhize, the Minister of Health, had been made aware of the situation.
