Lavender essential oils are the most popular as they add a sense of freshness and calmness not only to your mind but also to your hair and skin. It’s a fragrant treat when diluted with carrier oils can improve hair and skin health, from fighting hair loss to relieving acne problems.
Lavender essential oil is mainly extracted from the pretty lavender plant. If you experience excessive hair loss, mix this oil with coconut oil and massage it onto your scalp. This can help improve blood circulation and strengthen the hair follicles, which in turn encourages hair growth. Reach for castor oil and add a few drops of lavender oil. Spread this mixture over your scalp and massage in for about 5-10 minutes. Wash it off well with cold water and shampoo.
Its dandruff control potential has skyrocketed with its antimicrobial agents, which help relieve scalp inflammation, suppress lice, and reduce the occurrence of dandruff. Take a tablespoon of unsweetened yogurt, add 2-3 drops of lavender oil and neem paste. These ingredients are very powerful and target dandruff.
When your hair needs a boost of moisture, a combination of mashed banana, aloe vera gel, and lavender oil can keep it feeling healthy and intensely nourished from roots to ends. Use this twice a week to combat drought. For added benefits, you can mix this oil into your regular hair products like hair serum, shampoo, and conditioner.
Acne is no less of a problem, it can burst hours away from attending a meeting or going to a party. Take 3 drops of lavender oil, 1/2 tbsp honey and 1 tbsp aloe vera gel to create an anti-acne mask. Dab the mixture on the affected area and clean it after 20 minutes. Do not repeat this mask more than twice a week. The anti-inflammatory agents in aloe vera can also help with sunburn. So it’s a double Dhamaka for your skin!
