Long Island Cares, Inc. – Harry Chapin Regional Food Bank continues to implement a variety of measures to serve the community during the coronavirus pandemic. In response to the increasing demand for basic needs for our needy neighbors, Long Island Cares has worked with local governments and individual donors to set up several temporary emergency care centers in Baldwin, Uniondale, Long beach, Levittown, Bellmore, 5 cities, Ocean side, Hemp plant, Elmont, Brierley Park, Talbach, and Stony brook. Long Island Cares continuously operates six additional permanent emergency supply locations long Island to help the nearly 300,000 Long Islanders suffering from food insecurity and hunger.
