A local medical team will be raising awareness of type 2 diabetes in the city center next week.
In celebration of Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Week, the Jurassic Coast Primary Care Network Social Prescribing Team is hosting an awareness event in Bucky Doo Square on Wednesday, May 12th.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be a variety of people, from dietitians to health trainers, to educate residents about their risk of diabetes and what to do about it. A Live Well representative, Take Control – a virtual program specifically designed to help people reduce their risk of developing the disease – will also be present on the day.
In addition to providing advice on diabetes, the team provides general tips on how to get healthier and connect with your local community.
