MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Montgomery locals got the chance to exercise this weekend as part of a summer fitness initiative hosted by Montgomery’s first lady Tamika Reed.
The free cardio event, Summer Fit Camp on Saturday, was part of Move Montgomery’s series of activities running through September to promote health and wellbeing.
The organizers say this event is very important to bring people together to improve themselves.
“Move Montgomery is a great organization, especially when we talk about the importance of rural and urban health care. One way we can help bring people together, bring people back to life, and bring people back together is through health and wellness, ”assists Sana Iman, Board Member of Move Montgomery.
“I think the community really stimulates and motivates people, and no matter where you are on your fitness journey, our goal is to have an event that can happen anywhere,” said Elizabeth Mazych, another board member.
