The Muskogee Swim and Fitness Center is hosting a five-week fitness contest to help residents battle weight gain during the holiday season. This winning team takes home the grand prize of $ 1,000.

“The competition is open to anyone over the age of 16,” said Kevin Anthis, facility manager at Muskogee Swim and Fitness Center. “Participants do not have to be a member of the facility to participate in competitions.”

Participants compete in teams of two for a chance to win $ 1,000. The entry fee is $ 50 per team. Each team will receive access to weekly specialty classes in the fitness center, a t-shirt, 10 guest passes and a free participation fee if they choose to use the fitness center before 2022. Teams must weigh in between Thursday and November 24th. Team with greatest weight loss during the competition will receive the grand prize of $ 1,000.

In addition to the grand prize, a one-year membership prize will be awarded to the man and woman who lose the most weight during the competition. Teams can also earn points by taking specialty classes, weighing weekly, and tracking their activities and food. The team with the most points receives the “Most Spirited” award from a private pool party and personal training.

The competition ends on December 31st.

“The ultimate goal is to keep your weight off over the holidays,” said Anthis.
