In October, it was twelve years since Organic Soup Kitchen opened its doors and began feeding Santa Barbara County’s most vulnerable parishioners. The organization provides clean, nutritious soup meals and food security, especially for cancer patients, the chronically ill and people on low incomes, and has supplied around 12,000 residents last year and more than 1 million bowls of soup since 2009.
“We are stronger than ever and are committed to all those in need,” says Andrea Slaby, COO at Organic Soup Kitchen. “Our 12th anniversary is an opportunity to thank our community partners and supporters who continue to help us ensure that everyone in our community has access to the nutrition they deserve.”
Organic Soup Kitchen’s biggest impact has been on thousands of community members battling cancer. Clinically formulated, SoupMeals are designed to meet the complex needs of people undergoing treatment for cancer or in recovery.
“Unfortunately, cancer and chronic diseases are not going away, so we continue to support innovation in oncological nutrition,” said Anthony Carroccio, Executive Director of Organic Soup Kitchen.
