Everyone knows someone in their middle or immediate environment who is affected by cancer.

Battle Cancer changed the face of post-cancer support and launched the world’s first free post-cancer fitness support program.

The Fight Cancer Program is a free 12-week strength and fitness program specifically tailored for post-cancer treatment. The aim is to improve the quality of life for everyone after cancer.

“Often times when people get or complete cancer treatment they have to go back to their normal lives, but they no longer exist,” said Scott Britton, founder and director of Battle Cancer.

“We provide them with a support system and structure to take control of their own lives and adapt physically and mentally to the world around them.”

The program is available both online and at some well-known gyms in the UK and US. Top athlete Sam Briggs signed up for the program in her Box Train Manchester. WIT London, CrossFit Invictus in San Diego and CrossFit Wynwood in Miami also offer the free program at their locations.

The Battle Cancer Program is based on research from the MOVE Forward Initiative, a pilot study examining the effects of a 10-week functional fitness program on the fitness and quality of life of teenage and young adult cancer survivors. It was also used by Dr. Consulted with Colin Robertson, a post-disease pre-rehabilitation specialist with over 20 years of experience in cancer treatment and sports.

The 12-week program aims to improve the quality of life of these post-cancer treatments. It continuously tracks physical progress with simple tests of grip strength, resting heart rate, mobility, balance and strength of the individual as well as measuring changes in mental and emotional state using the WHO quality of life questionnaire.

“I take great pride in helping the Battle Cancer Program team set new standards, and I look forward to seeing how we can evolve this into even better best practices and watching life go by as a direct result will change this incredible initiative, ”said Dr. Robertson.
