INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Marla Rubalcava is bringing something new to the Indianapolis fitness community.
“(It’s) nothing like a regular gym,” she said. “We are in four walls in a warehouse. It’s an open-air facility, (that is) we don’t have a roof in the building. So when it rains we took courses in the rain and you are protected. When it’s hot we have fans and when it’s cold we have heating elements. “
The concept of “Glutes 317” came about after adversity forced Rubalcava to think outside the box. After the COVID-19 outbreak, she recalls that many personal trainers were forced to turn around and rethink how to reach their clients. After a year of delays, her dream of Glutes 317 has found a home.
“I promise you, you’ve never seen a training like this before,” said Rubalcava. “Most of our workouts focus heavily on your glutes and give you a nice shape and a lift.”
Rubalcava says that her workout attacks the whole body, although her buttocks get a lot of attention in her gym.
Whitley Krebbs said she and her friends became addicted after two months of training with Marla. She spoke to Randall Newsome of All Indiana about the workouts.
“They’re pretty challenging, but you start off easy and work your way up and get stronger every time,” said Krebbs.
Despite a variety of Rubalcavas exercises, Krebbs said that when it comes to difficulty, one is above the other.
“The hip bumps are the hardest,” she said. Krebbs laughed as she talked about how difficult it was for her boyfriend to try a workout at Glutes 317.
