A new, 24-hour, adult-only fitness center is available to Orange Beach residents. The 17,400-square-foot gym opened on July 6th.

The facility was designed by Davis Architects, Inc. and McCollough Architecture and cost approximately $ 2,968,082. The adults-only gym includes a large open space weight / cardio room (10,700 square feet), two group fitness rooms with a breakout wall (3,400 square feet total), and large locker rooms with saunas, showers, and toilets.

The new building creates much-needed space in the Rec Center for the Expect Excellence program and Camp Sunshine.

During the regular July 6th city council meeting, the mayor and council unanimously approved changes to non-resident recreational center membership and new policies. The tariff changes are as follows:

One-time year for non-residents increased from $ 150 to $ 300

The annual increase in the non-resident family from $ 250 to $ 500

Monthly single (resident or not) increased from $ 40 to $ 60

Monthly family number (resident or not) increased from $ 60 to $ 90

Day ticket increased from $ 5 to $ 10

Guest (of a member) increased from $ 3 to $ 5
