August 31 – CITY OF MILTON – Tayla Thomas has always been passionate about nutrition and health. After all, she is a trained nurse.
“I’ve always wanted to help people,” says Thomas. “I’m just trying to help people be a better version of themselves and get healthier.”
80/20 Nutrition opened on Aug. 24 at 705 S. Janesville St., Milton. The shop offers meal replacement shakes, energy teas, aloe, individual coaching, meal planning and nutrition for the home.
Thomas chose the name “80/20” because, in her opinion, health is based on the 80/20 philosophy: 80% nutrition and 20% fitness give you a 100% mindset.
After meeting people who want to set health goals, Thomas often recommends a drink from their extensive menu. There are 17 tea and 31 shake flavors to choose from in the shop. Thomas said the tea boosts energy and burns calories, while the shakes provide 24 grams of protein and only 200 calories.
“We have three different types of tea,” said Thomas. “We have our basics that will boost your metabolism. Then we have our advanced tea that will boost your metabolism and give you extra energy. Then we have our ultimate tea that will boost your metabolism. and its benefit is collagen, which is good for hair, skin and nails, electrolytes, and immunity. “
80/20 Nutrition also offers three different types of shakes: Normal, “Fat Burner” and “Beast Mode”. The regular shakes contain 24 to 28 grams of protein and will keep you full for three to four hours, Taylor said. The fat burner shakes have the added benefit of burning visceral fat and keeping you feeling full a little longer, she said.
The shop’s “Beast Mode” shakes, which contain 34 to 38 grams of protein, are typically consumed after a workout because they help rebuild muscles, she said. The store also has vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free options.
“Teas are probably the most popular drinks (beverage category) on the menu,” said Taylor. “The pom pom has been the most popular in the last few days. Pomegranate, strawberry lemonade and mango flavors were mixed together. Then our most popular shake would be our strawberry cake.”

Customers can also add various booster shots to their beverages. Taylor said the “donut shot” is a fat burning shot that tastes like a donut but helps burn fat while keeping you feeling full longer.
The store also has the “New Mom Booster,” which the owner says helps reduce fatigue and contains special vitamins and minerals that new mothers need to support mental performance and the concentration and regulation of hormonal activity.
Thomas is happy to be part of the community and plans to be very active. She recently joined the Milton Chamber of Commerce and has been featured in recent farmers’ markets.
“We just want to be a big part of the community and create a good environment for everyone,” said Thomas.
