The Diabetes Center for the Health System in Northwest Texas is raising awareness
The Northwest Texas Healthcare System Diabetes Center, recognized by the American Diabetes Association, will host a series of educational lectures to celebrate “Diabetes Management Over the Last 100 Years,” according to a press release.
During this month’s awareness raising, Amanda Ast, MS, RD / LD Diabetes Educator, will discuss effective information and the latest research for healthcare professionals. Ast will also continue their monthly Living With Diabetes courses for people diagnosed with diabetes who want to learn more about how to cope with life with diabetes.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 40% of the people who died from COVID-19 lived with diabetes. It’s important to learn more because more than one in ten Americans live with diabetes, according to the press release. NWTHS provides resources for healthcare professionals and patients, including nutritional counseling and personalized diabetes education. More information is available at www.nwths.com.
