JEFFERSON – Jefferson County’s Aging and Disability Resource Center is trying to fill vacancies on the Nutrition Project Council.

This council is responsible for overseeing the Jefferson County’s Senior Nutrition Program and ensuring that it is meeting all contractual requirements while fulfilling the mission of the ADRC. There are aging and disability resource centers that provide reliable information, advice and support services to older people and people aged 18 and over with disabilities.

At the Nutrition Project Council meetings, council members assist in evaluating, promoting, planning, and advocating the Senior Nutrition Program and its participants.

Individuals interested in working with the Nutrition Project Council must represent one of the audiences that the nutrition program serves. The ward council is currently recruiting family members, caregivers, volunteer food drivers, or friends of home-delivered meal recipients to serve home-delivered meals in Jefferson County communities. The company also recruits to serve community meals in Fort Atkinson, Lake Mills, Waterloo, and Watertown.

The council meets quarterly on the last Tuesday of January, April, July, and October at 2 p.m. in Room 103 of the Workforce Development Center at 874 Collins Road, Jefferson. Due to the pandemic, the meetings are currently taking place via Zoom. All members receive a daily rate and mileage for each meeting.

If you are interested in joining the Nutrition Project Council and would like more information, contact Kimberly Swanson, Nutrition Program Director at 920-674-8134 or email Kimberlys@jeffersoncountywi.gov .
