The Fit Body Bootcamp in Plainwell has reopened thanks to local entrepreneur and home mom of five Jessica Bowman.

The fitness center at 380 Oaks Crossing Blvd., Suites A and B, opened on Saturday, November 13th, after the gym closed under the previous owner in July 2021 due to the effects of COVID-19.

Plainwell’s Fit Body Bootcamp is now open Monday through Friday from 5-9 a.m. and 4-7 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m.-9:30 a.m.

During her years as a full-time mom, Bowman struggled to find a workout routine that gave her the results she wanted until she discovered Fit Body Boot Camp’s 30-minute group workouts. After the fitness center closed, she pursued business ownership and reopened the room to continue her fitness journey and help others do the same.

“I was devastated when the gym closed,” said Bowman. “As a full-time mom, the 30-minute Fit Body Boot Camp workouts really changed my life. I am now looking forward to embarking on this new journey and offering the community a place where people not only feel good, but also can effectively achieve their fitness goals. “

Offering morning and evening sessions, the Plainwell location aims to create an environment of a local, supportive family dedicated to the wellbeing of others and oneself while building self-confidence and self-worth.

Trainers use low risk, mixed workout exercises and minimal equipment to help members burn fat and tone muscles. The afterburn workouts use a combination of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and active rest training to help the body burn up to twice as much fat and calories as traditional workouts in half the time and up to 36 hours after the session keep burning.
