Dear Quincy Public School Families, The Quincy School Nutrition Department asks for your patience and assistance in facing new challenges. As you may know, we are currently facing unprecedented shortages in food and packaging materials, as well as massive delivery delays or cancellations. Nationwide bottlenecks and delays have affected the availability of certain groceries, resulting in food items that we were able to offer regularly in the past being replaced. These supply problems are common across the country and pose particular challenges to the school system because of the amount of meals we serve and the nutritional standards we follow. All of this means that we may need to replace our menus quickly depending on what we purchase can. We know this has an impact on students and we do our best to provide updates on menu changes whenever we discover an issue. Please check your child’s online menu on each service day to see the latest changes. Menus can be found here: https://www.schoolnutritionandfitness.com/index.php?sid=1597177079586&page=menus. Please note that providing your children with healthy, nutritious and appetizing meals remains a top priority. We love to see them every day and thank you for your support and patience as we continue to offer free meals to all students. The good news is that breakfast and lunch are free throughout the school year. So please stay with us while we face another challenge. Your participation helps keep our program strong, and we look forward to serving you! Sincerely, Sara Dufour, M.Ed., RDN
