India’s white ball captain Rohit Sharma and star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who were excluded from the upcoming three-game test series against South Africa due to injuries, are working at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to regain their fitness .

The 25-strong Indian U-19 squad has a preparatory camp at the NCA ahead of the upcoming ACC U19 Asia Cup, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates from December 23, the Indian U-19 team in the Asia Cup cite, both Rohit and Jadeja shared pictures.

The duo’s absence from testing against the Proteas means India will be tested on both the opening front and their lower order punch combination and five bowlers.

34 year old Rohit was named full time ODI and T20I Captain of India last week. He was also promoted to vice-captain in the longest format.

However, the star batter suffered a left hamstring injury during his training session in Mumbai and was excluded from the test series.

Priyank Panchal has replaced Sharma on the test team, who reached South Africa for the series from December 26th.

On the other hand, Jadeja sustained an injury to her right forearm during the first test against the Kiwis in Kanpur. After an examination, he was diagnosed with swelling on his forearm.

Quiet was recommended to the all-rounder and he was also excluded from the second Test against New Zealand in Mumbai and the South Africa series.
