Traditionally, coffee, sweet potatoes, sugar cane and bananas were grown in the hills of Ostruanda. In recent years, however, new plants such as patchouli, geranium and eucalyptus have also appeared. Entire villages have started converting them into essential oils, helping to lift so many residents out of poverty. And the demand for these wellness products is booming worldwide. Our colleagues from France 2 report with Olivia Bizot from FRANCE 24.
