TOOELE, Utah (KUTV) – –
Search and rescue workers have sought help from the public to find a 32-year-old Tooele man with type 1 diabetes who has not been seen since early Friday morning.
Officials said Rick Morris left his home at 780 W. 700 South in Tooele around 2:30 a.m. Friday. They believed he was going for a short walk and then planned to return home.
It was believed that Morris had low blood sugar on his last visit. He didn’t take any diabetics he’d brought with him.
His sister Mariah posted on social media that his mother and another sister gave him something to eat to raise his blood sugar levels.
When they checked on him again, Morris was gone. Mariah Morris said if he gets down to a low level he can become disoriented and passed out.
“We think he ran away with low blood sugar and passed out, and we can’t find him,” she explained, fighting back tears.
Family members have asked neighbors along 700 South to check their doorbell and outside cameras for signs of Morris and check out where he might have gone.
Tooele County Search and Rescue officials said Morris was last seen wearing blue jeans and black tennis shoes. It was possible he wasn’t wearing a shirt.
He was described as 6 feet 1 inches tall, with black hair and hazel eyes, and weighing about 150 pounds.
Anyone with information on Morris’s whereabouts has been asked to contact Tooele City Police Department at 435-882-5600.
