The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program returns to South Carolina

May 1, 2021 – The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) returns this summer with the goal of adding fresh, nutritious products to the diets of low-income seniors and helping smallholders in South Carolina.

This USDA seasonal grant program enables qualified individuals to purchase unprocessed fruits and vegetables from authorized farmers markets, street stalls, and community-sponsored farming programs.

SFMNP is not available to residents of Bamberg, Berkeley, Greenwood, and Laurens counties.

To apply, visit the DSS website ( and fill out an online application between May 1st and June 1st. Click here for a list of country-specific senior service organizations with contact information that can assist seniors with online application.
