Sir Elton John “got really fit” in lockdown.

The ‘Rocket Man’ hitmaker has spent the last 14 months focusing on his fitness as he “wants to be the strongest he ever was” when he goes back on tour after the coronavirus pandemic.

He shared, “I got really fit in Lockdown. I go to the pool, play tennis. On the other hand, I didn’t want to come out overweight. When I tour again, I’ll be the strongest I’ve ever had. ” A lot of shame comes from the way I’ve gained weight. It has been with me all my life.

“I’m a Type B diabetic so I have to be careful what I eat. I have two children I want to see and be around as often as possible. They have to do something about it [weight gain] and sit down with a doctor or nutritionist and say, “How do I do this?” It depends what do you want for the rest of your life? I’ve had a lot of help. My doctor said, “Elton, get yourself together, do as you were told” and you will see the benefits of that. “

While the 74-year-old singer has had a positive lockdown experience, he admitted to those who use social media to send derogatory signs to others, admitting that the pandemic is widespread.

On the Deeney Talks podcast, he added, “During the lockdown, we saw social media being used to racially abuse people. Not only gay but also racist. People are so cruel to each other and because they hide behind it. ” Your social messages or whatever they’re doing. If they had to write their names on it, they wouldn’t. And I think it’s just terrible that people can write anonymous things about people who are gay, have a different political conviction, are religious, are persuasive or just racist. “
