Parotta or ‘Barota’ is a flaky yet wholesome flatbread from the south. This paratha is layered, making it the perfect paratha to accompany with coconut curries and delicious stew. Serve those hot parathas with a spoonful of ghee!

4. Ghee rice
Ghee rice, also known as neyichoru in Malayalam, is a cooked rice dish that repurposes rice by adding the earthy and distinctive taste of ghee. Ghee rice is a staple food in Kerala and is often paired with kurma or a South Indian curry.

5.Pathiri
Pathiri is a healthy and soft flatbread made from rice flour. This is authentic to the Malabar region of Kerala and is made with just three ingredients, rice flour, cooking oil and water. A dough is made from rice flour and then rolled and cooked like atta roti.
