Wellness solutions, the largest distributor of fitness equipment for private and commercial use in Romania, announces a sales increase of 30% for 2020 and achieves sales of more than 5.5 million euros. Revenue growth was supported by the rapid changes in customer behavior during the Covid19 pandemic.
The pandemic increased people’s interest in exercising at home. More and more Romanians were aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and decided to invest in fitness equipment for home use.
”Sales of high standard wellness products and solutions to home use customers have increased significantly as a result of the health crisis. Many individuals who hit the gym have been forced to make lifestyle changes and consider the benefits of having access to exercise in their own environment. As a result, the demand for home equipment such as bicycles, cross-trainers and treadmills has more than doubled compared to the same period last year. On the other hand, the supply of equipment for commercial use continues to be affected by the pandemic, but I believe that due to our constant need to socialize, people have already started to partially return to their routine of going to the gym. Hopefully this segment will also recover. I expect more and more people to choose a “hybrid” model of going to the gym and exercising at home with their own fitness equipment. I also believe that people are trying to avoid overcrowded gyms in order to create more and more “boutique” gymnastics, ”said Tania Papagiannopoulou, CEO of Wellness Solutions.
The company estimates that the combination of the high demand for home fitness equipment and the renaissance of the gym will see an increase of approximately 20% this year.
