Upcycling used materials for drum construction and at the same time promoting creativity

In August of this year, Wyeth Nutrition Hong Kong and St. James’ Settlement FOOD-CO launched the third Green Music Campaign and hosted 4 tutor-led workshops that encouraged children to use their creativity to turn cans of powdered milk into music drums. More than 50 families and 70 children took part in the 4 workshops and collected more than 70 products for the competition. The competition jury completed the evaluation process in October, with representatives from Wyeth Nutrition Hong Kong and St. James’ Settlement jointly selecting the champion, first runner-up, second runner-up and five merit winners whose products are environmentally friendly, creative and aesthetic . The award ceremony was successfully held last Saturday (December 18th) and the winning products were exhibited at the same location. On the same day, the “Wyeth Nutrition x FOOD-CO Sharing Day” took place, which organized a total of five workshops with two drawing workshops and three green music workshops to promote green living.

Green music campaign series launched in 2019 to proactively promote green living

To promote the integration of environmental protection into everyday life, Wyeth Nutrition Hong Kong first launched the Green Music Campaign series in 2019, which aims to encourage children and parents to recycle / upcycling / reusing used milk powder cans in a fun way inspire. The first event was a music workshop that taught children to play different styles of music with the upcycling music drums. The three music workshops successfully won over 120 children and parents to participate and shared the fun of making music together.

The second year of the Green Music Campaign has been put online. The online workshops began with a short tutorial video for parents and children to turn powdered milk cans and some household items into musical instruments themselves. The tutor then taught the families a few simple songs to perform together at home. The videos attracted more than 170,000 views, 360 comments and 324 shares on social media, successfully combining environmental protection and music again to teach children the importance of environmental protection in a fun and engaging way.
