Many fitness fans will have a reason to smile on Monday.

The province announced on Friday that outdoor courses and personal training will be allowed in areas affected by gray area restrictions, such as Toronto and the Peel Region.

Sean Blinch, owner of Red Leaf Fitness, said he and his clients couldn’t be happier with the news.

“We plan our class schedules and expect the numbers we get,” said Blinch, who works on Caledonia Road. in York.

If the temperature drops below 7 ° C or it rains, the gym will revert to the Zoom classes as before.

Blinch said he expects four face-to-face classes with a maximum of 10 participants on Monday.

Ricky Huynh and his trainers from Fit Factory Fitness on King St. W. will also be holding outdoor classes on Monday.

He said customers would meet outside the gym and go on an “excursion” to places like the CN Tower and the canoe landing for the class.

“The coaches can hardly wait. It’s her passion, ”said Huynh.

We apologize, but this video could not be loaded.

“Classes will have a capacity of 10. We have a lot of interested customers and there is a waiting list,” added Huynh, who is concerned about only opening to face another lockdown.

Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie said fitness is a part of life.

“I am delighted that the Ontario government has made several adjustments to the gray area public health policies that I firmly believe will positively affect the mental, physical and financial health of so many people in Mississauga will have an impact, “Crombie said in a publication.
