Trinity Health Outpatient Nutrition Services is offering a grocery tour of a diabetic grocery store on Tuesday, March 9th, 6pm to 7pm at MarketPlace Foods, 1930 South Broadway.
The free tour is aimed at people with diabetes, their friends and family members, or anyone interested in understanding food labels and making the best food choices to meet the nutritional needs of you or a loved one.
“Shopping for the right foods is critical to treating diabetes.” said ambulatory nutritionist Kayla Cole, RDN, LRD. “On this tour, you will learn what foods to look for and how to read and understand the components of a food label, including total carbohydrates, sugars, fiber, and sugar alcohols.”
Attendees are directed to meet at the east entrance of MarketPlace Foods, near the deli. Space is limited and face covering is required throughout the tour. Registration is required by calling 857-5268 by March 8th.
