GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) – Three schools in North Carolina, two in East Carolina, have been selected to offer a brand new $ 100,000 Don’t Quit! ® fitness center

Governor Cooper and fitness icon Jake Steinfeld, chairman of the National Foundation for Governors’ Fitness Councils, announced NOT ENDING! The campaign has named CM Eppes Middle School in Greenville, Northridge Middle School in Charlotte, and Perquimans County Middle School in Winfall as the most outstanding schools in the state for demonstrating leadership skills and keeping their students fit.

“I am delighted that these three deserving schools have been selected to receive these generous gifts,” said Governor Cooper. “As we emerge from the pandemic, it is more important than ever for students to reap the short- and long-term benefits of physical activity. Each of the schools selected have demonstrated their commitment to promoting the health and wellbeing of students, which is important to the entire state of North Carolina. “

Each fitness center is funded through public-private partnerships with companies such as The Coca-Cola Company, Anthem Foundation, Wheels Up, and Nike, and does not rely on taxpayers’ money or government funding.

These ultra-modern DON’T QUIT! Fitness centers will be featured at ribbon cutting ceremonies this fall.
