WINONA – The new HealthyFit “Speed” program from Winona Health is all about getting your health going again.
The four-week program, which begins on February 3rd, is designed to provide a convenient way for people to improve their health by helping them set a goal and offering tips on how to achieve that goal. The program is held virtually with a small group of participants per session.
The four sessions over four weeks include individual check-ins with a nutritionist who can help you set and meet your health goal. Topics covered include how to put together a healthy meal; Self-monitoring of calorie intake; how to read and understand nutrition labels; Recommendations for the daily intake of total carbohydrates, proteins and dietary fats; Portion control and recommended portion sizes of certain types of food; Sample recipes and resources for meal planning; and behavior changes that set you up for success, as well as dealing with setbacks.
“Now is a good time to invest in yourself and focus on your health,” said Winona Health registered nutritionist Kayla Roland. “Think of this as the best gift you can give yourself and imagine how much better you can feel in 2021.”
Roland will lead the adult weight management program through a virtual platform accessible anywhere there is internet access and a computer, tablet or smartphone.
Whatever your healthy goals, from lowering cholesterol and improving strength and endurance to reducing portion sizes for successful weight loss, the Speed program can help you achieve those goals.
The program is available from 4pm to 5pm on March 3rd, 10th, 17th and 3rd and from 11am to 12pm on March 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st.
The cost for the four-week program is $ 63 and the class size is limited. For more information or to register, call program facilitator Kayla Roland at 507-457-4161 or visit winonahealth.org/wellness.
