Before World Coffee Day, we thought about the fact that the best thing about coffee is that there is no specific preparation recipe, regardless of whether it is hot or cold, bitter or sweet, thick or sloppy. A delicious cup of coffee isn’t just a drink, it’s a conversation starter, it energizes the laziest of people, keeps students awake while studying for exams, relieves bad moods, and brings new ideas to life in one sip.
If you’re a coffee connoisseur like us, you’re sure to love trying unique home brewing recipes to show off your barista skills. Why buy a fancy coffee in the café when you can spoil your friends and colleagues with homemade Mint & Vanilla Coldbrew, Orange Iced Coffee or Dolce Chocolate Latte?

Coldbrew can be offered to guests at any time of the year and the best part is that you can be creative to make this caffeinated drink healthier and more refreshing using simple ingredients.
Mint & Vanilla Coldbrew (Abdul Sahid Khan, Head Trainer, Lavazza India)
Ingredients:
150ml Coldbrew (any medium or light roast coffee)
2-4 mint leaves
30ml vanilla syrup
6-8 ice cubes
Method:
Place the mint leaves on the bottom of a glass and mash the mint with a muddler. Add vanilla syrup, but if you don’t have the vanilla syrup, you can use 20g of brown (raw) sugar and mix well.
Put all the ice cubes in a glass and pour coldbrew over it. Your refreshing cold brew in café style is ready. Stir it well before serving it to guests.
2. Orange iced coffee
Sweet and flavorful coffees have always been our favorite. The tartness of the orange and the subtle sweetness of sugar definitely add a nice touch to what was originally referred to as freshly brewed medium roast coffee.
Orange Iced Coffee (Abdul Sahid Khan, Head Trainer, Lavazza India)
Ingredients:
150ml brewed coffee (French press / Chemex)
A medium-sized orange
20ml sugar syrup
6-8 ice cubes
Method:
Brew the coffee, strain it and let it cool down. Make a juice out of half an orange and pour it into a glass. Fill the glass with ice cubes and pour the brewed coffee over it.
Add sugar syrup and ask guests to stir it before they drink it. You may have seen this as a soda iced coffee trend, but this is with a more Indian twist as we want our coffee to be sweeter.
3. Sweet chocolate latte
A delicious, simple cafe-style latte recipe with lots of chocolate and cream is sure to make a perfect after-food drink!
Dolce Chocolate Latte (Abdul Sahid Khan, Head Trainer, Lavazza India)
Ingredients:
30ml espresso (moka pot coffee)
60ml milk
60ml cream
20g white chocolate
10 ml vanilla syrup (optional)
Method:
In a medium pan, heat the milk, cream, white chocolate and espresso until the chocolate has melted by stirring occasionally. Add the vanilla syrup and heat up to the desired drinking temperature.
Pour into coffee cups and pour some grated white chocolate over them. If you want to make it completely vegan, replace milk with almond milk and cream with soy cream.
If you don’t have an espresso machine or mocha pot at home, try South Indian filter decoction.
