If there are things in this life that you don’t know, it is probably best not to accept things … and find the answers to any questions you may have.
You can’t let pride get in your way.
Especially when that pride could cause you to burn your house down.
Let me explain …
When I was in Jamaica I went to this spa with my partner and we had a couples massage … and I was so impressed with the scent in this place that I wanted to take it home. They pumped this lemongrass essential oil around the lobby and, well, I inquired about it … and found that I could buy it and take it home …
The thing is – it was one of those bottles that aren’t like the little essential oil bottles that you put in a diffuser. It was one of those bottles that you take off the lid and put a couple of sticks or something in to trigger and spread the scent.
I always thought they were like incense sticks … you know how the ones you light and burn in your place that give off a great smelling smoke. I had assumed that the chopsticks would soak up the oils and so they got the scent to penetrate the air in the room.
Apparently I was thinking wrong.
I lit one of the sticks. I assume the sticks are covered in plastic because as you can see in the photo from my Instagram above, the stick … that I was trying to make fire … started to melt.
That’s when I realized I had no idea what I was doing … and went to Google. Then I realized that the sticks are … just sticks. And the more you use, the more fragrance there is.
Who knew.
Not me.
The moral of the story: if you don’t know what the chopsticks with some essential oils are for, don’t assume it’s incense that can be lit … because you could burn your house down. Swallow your pride and head to Google and find answers to the questions you are too proud to admit you have.
The more you know
