A FAITH healer has appeared in court accused of selling counterfeit “plague protection kits” valued at £ 91 as a hypocrite for Covid-19.
Bishop Climate Wiseman, 46, has been charged with fraud and unfair trade crimes after allegedly offering a small bottle of oil and a piece of red thread to desperate coronavirus sufferers in south London.

Wiseman, head of the Camberwell Kingdom Church, told users the cedar and hyssop mixture would protect them from the virus, the indictments read.
He wore a leather jacket over a clergy shirt and dog collar and appeared before Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court today.
He spoke to confirm his name and date of birth before leaving between Jan.
The prosecution alleges that Wiseman alleged the brew – advertised as “Divine Cleansing Oil” or as part of a “Divine Plague Prevention Kit” – could be used to “treat, prevent, protect or cure” the coronavirus.

The allegations are said to have been made “in person, online, in instructional videos and through testimonial videos”.
Prosecutor Ryan Thompson, who represents Southwark Council, which is bringing the charges, said the oil “cured at least 10 people” in phone calls to the church during an investigation.
He said the charges related to the sale of a coronavirus cure that would not work and that there was a “risk of death and harm” for people who bought the oil because they believed it would help them get them save.
Maeve Thornton, who defended, said the case concerned freedom of worship.
The bench, chaired by Derek Cock, sent the case to the Inner London Crown Court, where Wiseman is expected to appear on September 13.
