New Delhi [India]Nov 11 (ANI): Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar announced on Wednesday the Nutrition Smart Village program to reach 75 villages across India to promote food awareness, education and behavior change in rural areas to promote.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, the goals of the initiative are to promote nutritional awareness, education and behavioral change in rural areas with the involvement of farmers and school children, the use of traditional knowledge through the local recipe to overcome malnutrition and the implementation of nutrition-sensitive people Agriculture through homesteads agriculture and nutri-garden.
The goals of the program would be achieved through the network of the All India Coordinated Research Project on Women in Agriculture (AICRP-WIA), which is operated in addition to the coordinating institute in Bhubaneswar at 13 centers in 12 states of India.
“The initiative was carried out in line with the Prime Minister’s call to all academics, agronomists and all institutions to adopt and remodel 75 villages. The initiative will take over 75 villages from AICRP centers and ICAR-CIWA, for which the AICRP Centers will each accommodate 5 villages, with the remainder being taken over by ICAR-CIWA with the aim of developing 75 Nutri-Smart villages, “the statement said.
“In order to achieve the goal of malnutrition-free villages, intensive awareness-raising campaigns and field activities are carried out to focus on the concept of Nutri-Dorf / Nutri-Food / Nutri-Diet / Nutri-Thali etc. to strengthen the Poshan Abhiyan informed about their legal rights in all areas of life. The products / tools / technologies developed by the AICRP centers will be evaluated through trials at multiple locations, “she added. (ANI)
